NCV - Nerveconduction Velocity:
The Nerveconduction and EMG studies have an important role in the evaluation of peripheral neuropathies by confirming the clinical suspicion of
neuropathy, Identifying the predominant pathophysiology such as axonal or demyelinating, sensory or motor. Nerve conduction and EMG studies
provides an objective and quantitative measure of nerve function and also help in predicting the prognosis of neuropathy. The electrodiagnostic
battery for neuropathy evaluation should include motor and sensory nerve conduction, late responses, blink reflex, sympathetic skin responses
and needle EMG.
